FAQs
Are you a fiduciary?
Yes. Being a fiduciary means I’m legally and ethically required to put your interests ahead of my own—always.
Are you subject to standards of conduct?
Yes, I adhere to this code of conduct.
How do you get paid?
I am a “fee-only” advisor. That means I don’t earn commissions or get paid referral fees. I’m only paid by you, the client, for the advice I provide and the work we do together.
Do I need to have millions of dollars to be a client?
No. You don’t need a certain amount of assets to work with me. I believe financial advice should be accessible to anyone who wants help. I don’t base my fee on a prospective client’s level of assets, but rather the amount of work needed. I am available to work on small projects that have an accessible price point.
Can I work with you if I live in a different state?
Advisory services are only offered to clients or prospective clients where Reel Financial Planning and its representatives are properly registered or exempt from registration.
If you are interested, reach out to schedule an introductory conversation. As part of our discussion we can determine if RFP is registered your state of residence. If not, we would be happy to refer you to another firm in your state.
Are you affiliated with a brokerage firm?
No. I am fully independent and work only for my clients - not for a firm, fund company, or insurance provider.
This means that I work with clients who have investment accounts with any provider, or with non-traditional / alternative investments (businesses, real estate, private equity or hedge funds, etc.).
Do you receive referral fees or commissions from other professionals?
No. I refer out to third party service providers who provide great service to their customers.
What is your background?
I have over 20 years of experience in financial services and am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Do you specialize in working with a certain type of client?
I specialize in helping individuals and families who love the outdoors, value independence, and want thoughtful financial guidance.
Why the focus on the outdoors?
Because it reflects both my personal values and the values of many of my clients - simplicity, self-reliance, and freedom.
